Welcome to the Maryland Association of Nurse Anesthetists (MANA)
-
Our Patients. Our Profession. Our Practice.
-
The mission of the Maryland Association of Nurse Anesthetists is to ensure patient safety, increase public awareness and protect CRNAs and their practices.
-
For more than 150 years, nurse anesthetists have been providing anesthesia care to patients in the United States. The CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) credential came into existence in 1956. CRNAs are anesthesia professionals who safely administer approximately 43 million anesthetics to patients each year in the United States

Invest in MANA PAC

It is vital that we maintain support for the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) profession throughout the year as issues can arise at any time that will impact the practice. The MANA Political Action Committee (PAC) funds are used to support candidates and improve educational opportunities for our students and CRNA's.

For Patients

Before having anesthesia for surgery, childbirth, pain management, or any other procedure, MANA and the AANA advise patients to learn as much as they can about their anesthesia options; before and after anesthesia; how other medications interact with anesthetic drugs; the possible side effects of anesthesia, and much more.
