Are you ready to share your skills and passion for the CRNA profession through a role in MANA leadership? If you have insights and ideas on how to improve the association and further its members' goals, then we invite you to run for a position on the MANA Board of Directors.

The following Officer positions are open:

  • President-Elect
    • One-year term beginning 9/1/24 and ending 8/31/25
  • Vice President
    • One-year term beginning 9/1/25 and ending 8/31/25
  • Secretary/Treasurer
    • One-year term beginning 9/1/24 and ending 8/31/25

The following District Director positions are open: 

  • District II Director (Baltimore)
    • Two-year term beginning 9/1/23 and ending 8/31/25
  • District IV Director (Harford, Cecil, Kent, Caroline, Queen Anne, Talbot, Dorchester, Somerset, Worchester, Wicomico)
    • Two-year term beginning 9/1/23 and ending 8/31/25

Meeting Commitment
  • Monthly virtual board meetings, helad in evenings for 1 hour
  • 1 - 2 in-person board meetings per year, which often co-incide with state meetings in the spring and fall

Board Member General Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with and make a commitment to MANA’s mission, purpose, and goals.
  • Attend the Fall Meeting and other MANA-sponsored events.
  • Assist in planning district events as needed
  • Serve as a Board liaison to a MANA committee and attend committee meetings.
  • Promote the CRNA profession and the advancement of the association where possible.
  • Provide vision and direction for the future of MANA.
  • Govern and direct the affairs of the Association.
  • Spend a few hours a month on MANA items.
  • Support the MANA-PAC.

Eligibility and the duties of each position

* No officer or member of the Board of Directors of the AANA may hold office in this Association.

President-Elect

      • The President-Elect shall serve for a term of one year, succeeding to the office of President at the end of that year.
      • No member shall be eligible for President-Elect who has not served on the MANA Board for at least one year.
      • The President Elect shall assume the duties of the President in the event of the President's inability to serve.

Vice President

      • The Vice President shall serve for a term of one year and shall be eligible for re-election at the end of the term.
      • No member shall be eligible for the Vice President who has not served on the MANA Board for at least one year.
      • The Vice-President shall assume the duties of the President in the event of the President or President-Elect's inability to serve.

Secretary/Treasurer

      • The Secretary/Treasurer shall serve for a term of one year and shall be eligible for re-election at the end of the term.

District Directors

      • Directors shall be elected to serve for two years and shall be eligible for re-election at the end of their term.

Please note: Candidates do not need to live within one of the respective counties to be eligible to run for a district director position. 

Next Steps for becoming a Candidate

If you or someone that you know is interested in serving on the MANA Board, please fill out the nomination form. You can reach out to Stephen Olomukoro with questions and to discuss your candidacy.

You will be asked to indicate your desired position(s) and leadership experience, and prepare a candidate position statement. The statement will offer members/voters a brief introduction of your experience and skills and will demonstrate why you are the right choice for the board postion. Consider focusing on what you see as future organizational challenges and how you may effectively resolve them. 

The slate of candidates will be announced in early June. Voting will be open from July 1 - July 31.

If elected, the board orientation will be held in person on September 27 at the Chartwell Country Club. Please mark your calendar to attend.
